The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! The guys talk about the news with the Bowlen trust, and if the Bowlen trust will ever deem Beth Bowlen capable or qualified to be the owner of the Denver Broncos.
The guys talk about the news with the Bowlen trust, and if the Bowlen trust will ever deem Beth Bowlen capable or qualified to be the owner of the Denver Broncos. DMac starts to wonder if Brittany Bowlen will ever be considered, and Al prepares Broncos Country for this situation to take a long time to work out. DMac mentions selling the team to resolve the problem, and reads a statement from John Bowlen supporting Beth. Al talks about Delaware preparing to offer sports betting beginning on Tuesday, and asks DMac what states are about to follow suit. Also, Al was blown away by the Vegas Golden Knights pregame show, and says it’s officially on now that the Caps have tied the Stanley Cup Final 1-to-1. The guys continue the Bowlen trust conversation, and DMac wonders if things were set up for Johnny Bowlen before his trouble with the law.
DMac clarifies statements made by Roger Goodell, the Denver Broncos and Pat Bowlen. The guys find out from the listeners if Broncos Country is okay with the team being sold. The guys continue to speculate about the Bowlen trust, and if anyone is rich enough to buy the Denver Broncos. DMac asks Al if he could see Peyton Manning buying the team, and Al talks about what Bowlen did that’s a little different in ownership circles. DMac says Peyton & John are loaded, but they aren’t billionaires. Al & DMac take calls on if Beth Bowlen is not being allowed to own the Denver Broncos because she is a ‘millennial’ & part of ‘Gen-X’ and if things are about to get ugly. DMac attempts to think of reasons why the Denver Broncos turned Beth Bowlen down. The guys argue about the best interest of Pat Bowlen, and what the trust does & does not say. Also, Big Al asks why Joe Ellis would want to remove himself from Broncos ownership.
Al & DMac argue about Johnny Bowlen having a chance once again at owning the Denver Broncos, and if he can overcome his legal troubles over time to again become a consideration. The thought of selling interest in the team becomes very real to Al when considering all the members of the Bowlen family, and DMac asks why Joe Ellis would want to fire himself. The guys take calls on where the Denver Broncos franchise goes from here, and who should be the rightful owner moving forward. DMac & Al run through the options Beth Bowlen has left to fight back with. Al says with pat Bowlen still alive, things will take a little time to work themselves out, and DMac weighs in on when things will be resolved.
