DE Adam Gotsis to participate in Broncos OTAs amid rape allegations

May 22, 2018, 8:22 AM

As has been the case through offseason workouts thus far, defensive end Adam Gotsis will participate in the Denver Broncos first set of OTAs starting Tuesday amid rape allegations during his first season at Georgia Tech in 2013.

Denver 7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck told Big Al and DMac that Gotsis, as of Monday evening, was scheduled to participate in the team’s workouts that begin Tuesday at UCHealth Training Center.

Gotsis turned himself into the Fulton County jail in early March after investigators secured a warrant in connection to an alleged strong-arm rape of a 25-year-old woman in 2013.

According to Atlanta police, a 30-year-old woman reported to police on Feb. 1 that she had been sexually assaulted by Gotsis after a party in March 2013 during his first season at Georgia Tech.

Last week, 9News’ Mike Klis reported that Gotsis’ attorney, Manny Arora, has been in touch with his client, the Broncos, and the district attorney in Fulton County periodically, and while a decision on whether to continue with the charges should be determined by mid-June, the D.A. has not yet decided if there’s enough evidence to move forward or not.

A second-round pick by the Broncos in 2016, Gotsis became the highest-drafted Australian-born planer in league history.

Despite a disappointing rookie season while recovering from ACL surgery, Gotsis rebounded in 2017 with 2.0 sacks and 33 tackles.
