Apr 13, 2018, 3:42 PM

Colorado Rockies All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado has been suspended five games for his role in a bench-clearing brawl with the San Diego Padres on Wednesday, the team announced Friday afternoon.

Arenado was among five ejected from Wednesday’s contest at Coors Field for charging the mount and fighting after being thrown at by Padres pitcher Luis Perdomo.

Both Arenado and Perdomo received five-game bans and fines for their actions, Rockies outfielder Gerardo Parra earned a four-game suspension, and Padres pitcher Buddy Baumann received a one-game ban.

San Diego infielder Freddy Galvis and catcher A.J. Ellis, along with Colorado pitcher German Marquez, were all fined for their actions as well.

Per multiple reports, both Arenado and Parra will appeal their suspensions and be available for Friday’s matchup with the Washington Nationals.
