The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to say the Broncos are still ‘in’ on Cousins, and the legal tampering period has begun.
The guys talk Grandview & Longmont basketball, and make sure to be careful about the breaking Adam Gotsis news. Al says he’s going to wait for the Gotsis story to sort itself out before making a comment on it, and DMac says he asked some Broncos sources & no phone calls have been made regarding Drew Brees, but the Vikings have been making calls. The latest with the Kirk Cousins drama is broken down, and Big Al says Cousins doesn’t understand the power of social media. The Raiders’ Sean Smith is set to serve his one-year prison sentence for stomping out his sister’s boyfriend in July, and Tiger Woods makes his case for a comeback at the Valspar Championship after a 2nd place finish. The NCAA tournament is upon us. The guys select their favorite teams in the tournament, including Oklahoma, Arizona State and Syracuse. The Minnesota Vikings reach out to Drew Brees’ agent, and Al points out that Brees is the type of QB that can turn around a franchise & Cousins cannot. Also, why teams are getting turned off to the idea of paying Cousins millions, and why Cousins can’t be the QB that sets the market.
Big Al is stunned to hear the Adam Gotsis news, and the guys decide what would happen if Gotsis missed some time for the Broncos up front. DMac recaps the latest with NFL free agency, and Big Al waits for Drew Brees to set the QB market. DMac says Saints fans must be upset for letting the Drew Brees situation linger so long, and Big Al talks about what kind of money it would take to say ‘I love you.’ Al says if Drew Brees picks the Broncos, the Saints are in the worst position in the draft, followed closely by the Minnesota Vikings. DMac debates if AJ McCarron or Case Keenum can get the job done for Denver, and states that its remarkable the Brees situation has gone this far. Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to say the Broncos are still ‘in’ on Cousins, and the legal tampering period has begun. Troy explains the odd case of the Vikings, and says the AJ McCarron market is dwindling. Troy thinks Denver won’t have much of a shot at Nate Solder with his price tag at the top of the market, and gives the guys the latest on CJ Anderson. Listen to the interview HERE!
The latest with Gotsis, Brees and where the JETS come in on the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes. Big Al notices the pressure building in Minnesota, and DMac says the Broncos have drawn a line in the sand when it comes to a free agency bidding war. Also, DMac says it’s about time we found out if Cousins is truly about the money and Al thinks Denver is not done with Cody Latimer. The guys talk about Brandon Stokley trying to trade Von Miller, and hear audio of Miller’s response. Also, the guys figure out DT’s dead money if the Broncos decide not to pick up his option in two days, and DMac takes shots at Emmanuel Sanders. The boys take calls on drafting a QB at No 5 overall, and if the roster is good enough to win a Super Bowl with Kirk Cousins or Case Keenum. DMac asks Big Al what free agent QBs profile as a Super Bowl winner, and the guys decide the asking price for Nick Foles.
