The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE! Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to say even though winning matters, Paxton Lynch needs to start the game against the Redskins. However, Troy notes that Paxton has still been walking around with a noticeable limp, and he’s concerned that it’s looking more like Brock will get the start. The voice of the Washington Redskins, Larry Michael joins the show to talk speculation on Kirk Cousins, and says everyone would love to see Cousins stick around Washington long-term.

Big Al & DMac discuss guys on IR for both teams, and DMac notices that the Redskins have twice as many. Al laughs at DMac’s accent as he impersonates Crocodile Dundee, and DMac tells Al how much the transitional tag for Kirk Cousins would cost. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, DMac asks Al about the reality of Kirk Cousins playing in Denver next year, and the founder of Papa Johns steps down as CEO following his criticism of the NFL. Also, index cards will no longer be allowed by the NFL as tools to measure first downs for officials. VJ has yet to name a starter for Sunday, and Al says hypothetically let’s say the Broncos land the No. 9 pick overall in the ’18 NFL Draft. Al says Denver has a chance to grab four top-end players in the first three rounds of the draft. The boys rattle through players & coaches that will be gone next year, and Al offers up some tips on cap relief. Chris Harris Jr. gets snubbed for the Pro Bowl, and Al says Harris at age 27 is anything but safe from being a casualty as the Broncos try to make it all fit. Also, Al mentions coaches that will be let go in the Broncos ‘New Year’s Day Massacre.’ The voice of the Washington Redskins, Larry Michael joins the show to talk speculation on Kirk Cousins, and says everyone would love to see Cousins stick around Washington long-term. Larry says the Redskins franchise hasn’t had a QB1 like Cousins in a long time, and the Skins are still hesitant on being tied down to Kirk long-term. Al & DMac talk about College Bowl Season bringing back fond memories, and Al tells DMac about all his recruiting & scholarship stories. Al says the Broncos need to take a closer look at LSU’s prospects, and talks about when he told Coach Bill McCartney he was committing to CU Boulder. The guys ask the listeners if Paxton Lynch being home-schooled is a bad thing, and DMac notes the differences in Garoppolo’s leadership compared to RG3 and Paxton’s. Also, when, if ever, we can expect Paxton Lynch to turn the corner mentally.
