The Broncos beat the JETS and are finally off the toilet! ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter joins the show to talk about the Broncos coaching situation, and if Denver will be in the market for a coaching change in the offseason. Schefter says Nick Foles will need to step in and be a mix of Jeff Hostetler & Case Keenum, and losing Carson Wentz is devastating to the Eagles, considering Wentz was an MVP candidate. Listen to the interview HERE! DMac says all we need to do is give DT a chance, and with Carson Wentz out, Al notes how the Super Bowl landscape has changed. Ron Leary lands on IR, and DMac asks Al what he thinks of Connor McGovern. The Jags look like bullies this year, and Emmanuel Sanders looks frustrated. DMac talks about Denver struggling to find a way to get Sanders the ball, and asks Al if he’s okay with Sanders’ attitude.
DMac asks Al what point there is in winning any more games, and who the Broncos should be looking to take in this year’s NFL Draft, including crotch-grabbing Baker Mayfield. There were over 5,000 no-shows yesterday at Sports Authority Field, and DMac says we will take it. Al says these next few road games for Denver will be character builders, and the QB he truly has his eye on is Mason Rudolph. Al likes that Denver kept the gameplan simple, and credits Bill Musgrave on putting Siemian in position to succeed. DMac says there were a couple crazy moments with Trevor on Sunday, and wants Big Al to decide if Baker Mayfield is a top-15 guy. Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to say the Broncos played with pride & effort, and clearly want Vance Joseph to stay as the head coach. Troy says there is still potential on the defensive side, and Big Al asks Troy about the legendary Von Miller turning a corner. Troy says Miller is truly a leader now, from his diet down to his overall attitude. Troy agrees with Al that Miller is well on his way to the Hall of Fame, and notes the stats to back that claim. Listen to the interview HERE!
Al says Cody Latimer needs a new deal, and DMac notes that Rios has been successful in this defense, not Brendan Langley. Jordan Taylor continues to catch everything, and DMac says it’s more personal with Gase & the Broncos than we know. Al says the Broncos won on Sunday because they limited their mistakes, and DMac says the TEs are still brutal. Also, Sanders’ value, watching out for the Chargers, and DMac’s little Kirk Cousins birdies. Big Al wants to know why DMac is so happy, and the guys discuss Kubiak in a GM role and Cousins as Denver’s QB. Also, the boys check up on the King Soopers Fan Football Pick ‘Em, and decide if Miami can upset New England in tonight’s MNF matchup.
