The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE! Al is in studio, and DMac is in Phoenix. Paul Schwartz of the NY Post joins the show to explain why Giants Head Coach Ben McAdoo always says ‘which Eli’ when asked about Manning. Al wants to know how long McAdoo should keep his job, and Schwartz notes the success McAdoo had in his first year in New York.
Big Al asks DMac what’s wrong with Dusty Baker, and the guys decide what weapons Ben McAdoo will try to use against the Broncos. Also, DMac remembers just how cold the Broncos’ Divisional playoff game was in 2012 when the Flacco Fling became the Mile High Miracle, and Al calls out Stokley’s big mistake. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, Al & DMac review the collapse of the nats against the Cubs, every Browns QB to start for Cleveland, and the release of NaVorro Bowman by the 49ers. Also, Schwartz says superstars like Odell just get treated a little differently, and this pared-down NYG offense won’t be able to score enough points without him. Listen to the interview HERE!
DMac gives the listeners some insight into just how favored the Broncos are, and Big Al is baffled as to why the Giants don’t run the ball & throw screen passes more often. The guys take calls on if Al is crazy to think the New York Giants game will be a close one. Vance Joseph says the Broncos are coming off one of their best practice weeks of the year, and the BYE has everyone in Denver feeling a little healthier. Also, debate on if the Broncos should go after Bowman. Big Al gets called out for his Jay Cutler take, and a caller asks Al if it matters that the Broncos have no film on the Giants new receiving core. Carson Wentz grows more mature by the day, and DMac & Al decide if the Eagles have become untouchable in their division.
In the Friday Fire Up, Big Al carries the team, and says he doesn’t care how it happens, only getting the ‘W’ matters. DMac says the Broncos will let it all soak in on Sunday night. The boys make bold predictions for Sunday night’s game, and Big Al says Eli Apple deserves more credit. Al is still fired up from the Fire Up! Also, DMac says fights in the stands at NFL games don’t need to happen, and is happy that Panthers fan got arrested. In this week’s edition of the King Soopers Fan Football Pick ‘Em, DMac & Al decide if the Chargers can take down the Raiders, and if the Raiders are slowly falling apart. Al says it’s tempting to take the Steelers against the Chiefs with all of Ben’s weapons, and loves Jacksonville’s defense against the L.A. Rams. DMac says he’s pulling hard for the Astros, and the boys debate the worst uniforms of all-time. A reporter asks Bryce Harper his thoughts on a Cubs vs. Dodgers series in the NLCS, and Al & DMac make their picks for the Broncos game on Sunday night.
