1. The Denver Broncos allowed Tyrod Taylor to be efficient.

Despite shutting down another great running back, the Denver Broncos defense allowed Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor to be efficient.

Taylor’s efficiency — 20-of-26 passing — led to two touchdown passes and helped win time of possession for the Bills.Offensively, we knew LeSean McCoy was going to be a problem, and obviously Tyrod Taylor with his legs. He did a good job today offensively with the play action boots, keeping

After the game, head coach Vance Joseph said: “Offensively, we knew LeSean McCoy was going to be a problem, and obviously Tyrod Taylor with his legs. He did a good job today offensively with the play action boots, keeping them on the move so they can run a pass. That really hurt us today, as far as the play action pass on defense for us.”

2. The Broncos offense needs to fix its turnover problems.

Denver’s averaged two turnovers a game through the first three games — almost three a game if the Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Bills defenders catch errant throws from quarterback Trevor Siemian. Unacceptable if the Broncos expect to be a playoff team in 2017.

After the game, Siemian said it was those turnovers that had him most disappointed with the 26-16 loss.

“I can’t do that, at home or on the road. The two turnovers, obviously, they hurt you,” Siemian said. “You never know what happens. The defense bailed us out one time. I felt good about getting points there if I don’t turn it over. Got to clean that up.”

Turnovers are unacceptable if the Broncos expect to be a playoff team in 2017.

3. What did we learn from the Broncos third “quiz”?

When faced with adversity, the Broncos did not respond well, which compounded mistakes on both sides of the ball. The Broncos also took a step

Denver also took a step backward when trying to execute. A prime example comes from one of Siemian’s interceptions. Siemian tried to complete a pass down the middle of the field while drifting to his left, off of his back foot, and with a

Siemian tried to complete a pass down the middle of the field while drifting to his left, off of his back foot, and with a sidearm throwing motion.

“We want him to be smart with the ball, he has been smart with the ball, and he’s made those plays before, so I’m not down on that part,” Joseph said after the game. “We can’t do it, but I get why he took some chances.”

This action is not indicative of the progress Siemian has made. He still needs to get better.
