The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! The guys debate if speed or scheme won the game for the Chiefs last night, and DMac is not counting on Jamaal Charles. The debate rages on about speed of the athletes vs. dominance of play-calling in KC’s big victory over the Pats. Big Al is quick to note Andy Reid’s use of Kareem Hunt, and DMac point out how the Rockies got to Clayton Kershaw. The guys talk to DMac’s dad Peter after the Patriots drop Game 1 to the KC Chiefs. Tom Brady & Co. should be fine by the end of the season, and DMac’s dad tells everyone what we learned about the Patriots.
Apparently Alex Smith has the Patriots’ number, and DMac utters that DeAngelo Henderson is similar to Kareem Hunt & is like a pocket McCaffrey. DMac says Tom Brady looked old, and Al says there’s no way Tom is any different from the QB1 we saw in the Super Bowl. Al says now it’s too late to trade for Alex Smith, and DMac explains why Trevor Siemian is better than Philip Rivers. Dmac explains why Bill Belichick was not happy following the Kansas City game, and Al tells everyone what was so amazing about KC’s game-plan. DMac tells Al Isaiah McKenzie could be the guy for Denver to take it 90+ yards, and how the Chiefs embarrassed the Broncos last year.
Big Al claims that this is an audition year for Mike McCoy, and DMac says prepare to see Max Garcia as the starting LG for the Broncos on Monday. Also, why it’s imperative that you can’t kick to Tyreek Hill. Big Al says it’s all about the Broncos’ WR3 position. Al likes Jordan Taylor, but doesn’t love him, and DMac thinks it’s time to put Sanders in the slot. Also, DMac is sick and tired of the fullback position getting too much credit. It looks like Ezekiel Elliott will play against Denver after all, and Big Al doesn’t think Zeke is a special back. Al tells DMac we are looking for pure superstars here in Denver. Big Al wants to know when the Broncos will extend Brock Osweiler’s contract, and DMac says he doesn’t necessarily believe Brock will get an extension in Denver. Al asks DMac when Brock will take snaps under center with the first-team, and DMac circles the game against Philadelphia. Al says KC. Also, DMac says we may never see Paxton Lynch in a Broncos uniform again now that Brock is here.
Mike McCoy claims Bolles & Watson should be fine against the AFC West pass-rushers because they’ve been going up against Von Miller all offseason, and Big Al starts laughing, noting how badly Miller was beating Bolles in camp. DMac says maybe Paxton Lynch will be like Alex Smith, and Al is already calling the Cowboys game a win for Denver. The Fan Football Pick’em gets underway, and Al says he likes the Raiders over the Titans. Hurricane Irma & Hurricane Harvey have made things interesting, and the guys make their picks between the Jags & the Texans. Big Al loves the weapons available for Rodgers this year, and picks the Pack over the Seahawks. Also, focus shifts to the Giants over the Cowboys on SNF. The guys talk to DMac’s dad Peter after the Patriots drop Game 1 to the KC Chiefs. Tom Brady & Co. should be fine by the end of the season, and DMac’s dad tells everyone what we learned about the Patriots.
