The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Cecil Lammey joins the show to say it’s looking like Paxton is going to be a miss, and his huge deficiency at this point is his inability to read defenses. Big Al tells Cecil the Broncos can’t have two QBs, so they must go with one. James Palmer joins the show to give some insight on how Vance Joseph’s message about Siemian being the starter was received by the team, and James says nobody he has had discussions with seemed surprised by the decision after everything that happened at camp & through the preseason.
Big Al says there’s not reason why Paxton Lynch can’t read defenses, and DMac says this was a tough one today for the Broncos organization, but a great day for Trevor Siemian. The guys decide if naming Siemian the starter is enough to keep the Broncos from having a losing season in ’17, and are shocked to hear that it’s likely curtains for Kyle Sloter after VJ tells the media the Broncos will only be keeping two quarterbacks on the roster.

Vance Joseph truly believes the Broncos have two guys ready to go at quarterback, and Al mentions how we have not seen a situation like this at quarterback since Aaron Rodgers came into the league. DMac asks Al what makes Paxton Lynch special, and Al says nothing. James Palmer joins the show to give some insight on how Vance Joseph’s message about Siemian being the starter was received by the team, and James says nobody he has had discussions with seemed surprised by the decision after everything that happened at camp & through the preseason. DMac asks about the mood shifting when Trevor Siemian got done speaking & Paxton stepped up to the mic. James notes the media could tell Paxton was dejected, and Trevor remained level-headed, and says that type of mindset can transfer to the games for both QBs. Listen to the interview HERE!
