The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! The guys hear from Trevor Siemian today about the Broncos passing camp coming up this week, and DMac just wants the whole passing camp saga to be over. Big Al & DMac worry that neither Siemian or Lynch have the ‘it’ factor Philip Rivers seems to have, and hear from Trevor on what he learned from last year & how he plans to stay in his lane.
The guys discuss how Mike & the Mad Dog found their ‘it’ factor, and Big Al tells DMac he doesn’t think you can be successful without ‘it.’ The first game of the season for the Denver Broncos approaches quickly, with no imminent John Elway contract deal in sight. Tim Tebow continues to be magical, and The Drive hears audio from his game-winning walk-off HR last night for St. Lucie. Also, DMac asks what’s wrong with Trevor Siemian just coming out & saying he wants to be the guy.
Big Al & DMac laugh about bench-shaming Peyton Manning, and review the timeline that led to Brock being benched & The Sheriff getting one more chance to show the world what he could still do. Flipping the bird to the camera is not something Al & DMac would picture Peyton Manning doing, but they note that’s just who he is. DMac asks Al if the game of football is changing, and if athletes like Christian McCaffrey will become more prominent in the NFL as time passes.
DMac doesn’t think there is any threat of the Broncos leaving Denver, but believes the John Elway contract situation may take precedent over the current quarterback position debate. DMac asks Al if Elway in an ownership role is even in the best interest of the Bowlens, and Al explains what Elway was doing on CNBC in the first place. The guys talk about Elway’s big opportunity to hold stake in the team, and DMac says things are being pressed with Elway’s current situation. Also, Tim Tebow trends up after his walk-off & Who Ya Got between the Rockies & Mets.
