Rockies 1B Reynolds 4th in MLB All-Star Game ‘Final Vote’ tally

The Colorado Rockies will send a franchise-record four players to this year’s All-Star Game in Miami, but the chances to add a fifth took a blow on Tuesday.
Rockies first baseman Mark Reynolds, up for the MLB All-Star Game “Final Vote,” trails three fellow National League hopefuls as of the first tally — third basemen Justin Turner, of the Los Angeles Dodgers; Kris Bryant, of Chicago Cubs; and Anthony Rendon, of the Washington Nationals.
Only Miami Marlins first baseman Justin Bour trails Reynolds.
Turner leads the NL with 6.7 million votes while Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas leads the American League race with 4.4 million votes.
National League:

Reynolds, who did not appear on the ballot — a spot filled instead by Ian Desmond, the club’s predetermined first baseman ahead of the 2017 season — ranks among the top NL first baseman at the plate this year.
Among qualified hitters, Reynolds ranks fifth in the NL in batting average (.282), sevenths in OPS (.888), and third in home runs (19) and RBIs (61).
It’s the second time as a Final Vote participant for Reynolds, who has never been selected to an All-Star Game.
Balloting closes at 2 p.m. on Thursday, and fans can vote the MLB.com voting site, the team’s website, or texting via mobile phone by sending the associated text message — “N4” for Reynolds, for example — to 89269.
Social media users can also chime by tweeting a player’s designated hashtag between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday.
The “Final Vote” winner will be announced live on MLB Network’s “MLB Tonight” on Thursday at 4 p.m.
