The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! All the Rockies seem to be doing is winning, and the guys break down what’s been working. Big Al makes a claim that there will be a draft-day blockbuster trade for Jimmy Garoppolo, and the Broncos need to keep someone like Joe Thomas in mind.
Arenado knocks a dinger, and the Rockies sneak out of Milwaukee with three wins. Opening Day at Coors Field is approaching, and DMac shows Al some pictures from the standing-room-only Red Sox opening day when his dad went. Walking into a movie theater backwards, and how Dustin Johnson explained himself after injuring his lower back on stairs. Al is missing Arnold Palmer at the Masters, and how Palmer remained everyone’s friend despite all the fame. Patrick Saunders, Rockies beat writer for the Denver Post, joins Big Al & DMac to tell them Adam Ottavino has always been emotional, and he knows why the Rockies have been fairly successful of late. Saunders calls it a combination of Bud Black getting a read on players, as well as the Rockies’ new blood getting acclimated. Listen to the interview HERE!
Big Al makes a claim that there will be a draft-day blockbuster trade for Jimmy Garoppolo, and the Broncos need to keep someone like Joe Thomas in mind. Al says Garoppolo is better than Deshaun Watson & forever will be. The guys debate developing a QB or trading for one, and discuss renegotiating with a team’s insurance plan. DMac thought Al valued Watson higher than that, and asks if Trubisky is a gamble. Also, the current value of Richard Sherman and Darrelle Revis as their stellar careers wind down, and who has a shot at winning the Masters now that Dustin Johnson’s back is injured.
DMac paints a Nuggets picture where Portland goes 0-4 in their final games, and is shocked the playoff conversation is still going on in Denver. Big Al takes a stab at what Portland’s record will be, and mentions Nuggets players that can’t shoot a mid-range jumper. DMac talks players the Nuggets can’t miss on like Dwyane Wade & Paul George, and Big Al wonders why the biggest stars don’t come work out in Denver over the summer. Also, when will the Avs be back in the playoffs & how cool it is to have Arnold Palmer live on through golf memories.
