The Drive with Big Al & Cecil LIVE in studio. Chad Brown joins the show and takes Al’s side promoting a chalk bracket. The possibility of handing a contract to King Dunlap is brought up, and Chad got the chance to watch a lot of tape on him & says he’s a viable candidate, but on the steep decline. Cecil asks Chad about the Tony Romo vibe, and Chad’s not feeling it. He knows the Romo situation differs from manning’s years ago, and Romo’s ad-lib improv abilities & refusal to go down will lead to injuries.
Mesmerized by the good weather & the good basketball, Cecil involves analytics in his bracketology, and asks Big Al if he remembers the Fab 5. Al wonders how much time is spent filling out brackets, and is sad NBA basketball is about to be over. The guys talk about the perfect atmosphere for playoffs, and challenge the listeners to name a fictional character with a statue. Potential landing spots for Adrian Peterson, and what will happen to Mitchell Trubisky. Also, Big Al’s bracket on 104.3 The Fan’s website is seeing a lot more red after upsets in Day 2 of the NCAA Tournament, and the guys talk about Big Al’s athletic abilities in basketball before he played college football.
Cecil tries to convince Al that David Njoku is a good move for Denver, and the guys shudder at the thought of Forrest Lamp or another guard in the first round. Selections Al doesn’t want the Broncos to make, and whether or not Cam Robinson is a guard at the end of the day. Al explains how players get hurt in the NFL, and Cecil says Patrick Mahomes is rocketing up NFL draft boards. Colin Kaepernick’s days in San Francisco may not be over, and Cecil mentions NFL teams having concerns about Dalvin Cook off the field. Big Al would love to see Marshawn Lynch in the NFL again, and the NY Jets spin their story about letting Dont’a Hightower go back to New England. Also, D-Wade trends down as he is ruled out for the season with an elbow, and last minute bracket busting in Who Ya Got?!
