Report: Rams sign former Broncos CB Kayvon Webster to 2-year deal

A member of the Broncos “No Fly Zone” is taking off from Denver toward the West Coast.

The Los Angeles Rams and former Broncos cornerback Kayvon Webster have agreed to a two-year deal, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Rams are giving former Broncos’ CB Kayvon Webster a 2-year deal, per source. Rams have eyed him for a while.

Webster developed into the role of special teams ace, but the defensive back had a hard time getting on the field behind a Pro Bowl-caliber secondary featuring cornerbacks Chris Harris Jr. and Aqib Talib and safeties T.J. Ward and Darian Stewart — not to mention talented third-year nickelback Bradley Roby.

In a press conference Monday at the team’s UCHealth Training Center, Broncos general manager John Elway said Webster was out on the free agent market exploring his options.

“We love Kayvon and he’s done a heck of a job for us,” Elway said. “Obviously, that is position that we’re pretty deep in. My understanding is that Kayvon wants to play a little bit more.”

Last week, Webster told 104.3 The Fan’s “The Drive” that he “hoping” a return to Denver would be possible but that he and his agent were working to figure out his options.

A third-round pick (90th overall) for Denver in the 2013 draft, Webster had his only two starts of his Broncos tenure that season.

In 54 games for Denver, Webster had 1 interception and 1 forced fumble, along with 64 tackles.
