Big Al and DMac, The Drive LIVE gets going by reviewing the excellent Peyton Manning interview that the CJ and Stokley show had earlier today with Cecil Lammey filling in for CJ. We are joined by ESPN’s Damien Woody, Mike Klis from 9NEWS and the guys had a chance to catch up with Demaryius Thomas to get some thoughts about his grandmother and the difference from last season to this year.
The Drive LIVE with Big Al and DMac on the road talking about the Peyton Manning interview that took place earlier today on the CJ and Stokley show with Cecil Lammey filling in for CJ. Way to go Stoke! Good pull getting Peyton to come on your show! Alfred announces that he’ll be in the TV booth for the third Preseason game against the L.A. Rams. Looking at this afternoon’s Quarterback Leaderboard, Paxton Lynch showed some growth today, making a couple plays that professionals do. Today’s offensive output wasn’t as productive as you’d like.
The Big Three at 3:30 touches on Demaryius Thomas’ relationship with his grandmother, who is going to be released from prison in December, Russell Westbrook signs an extension with the OKC Thunder, the Rockies are rolling right now and Broncos Training Camp with Virgil Green shining.
ESPN’s Damien Woody joins the show to get a national perspective of Training Camps around the NFL. Alfred also asks Damien about the idea of platooning Offensive Linemen and having a rotation. Hear Damien’s response to that and the entire conversation HERE!
Football at Four underway with Big Al issuing a challenge to DMac… can you recite a play from a football playbook? DMac makes a valiant effort. Shifting back to practice today, Mark Sanchez played well, Trevor Siemian was middle of the road.
Mike Klis, our Broncos Insider from 9NEWS joins the show to give us his perspective of today’s Broncos practice out at the UC Health Training Center. Mike mentions the Broncos have plans for Peyton Manning on opening night. Mike also goes into the Offensive Line depth, with a surprise name running with the starters at Right Guard. The hour wraps with Big Al and DMac’s conversation with Demaryius Thomas from earlier today out at Dove Valley. We hear what it means to him to have his Grandmother’s sentence commuted by President Obama and will be released in December. Hear that interview with DT right HERE!
The third and final hour underway with DMac asking Big Al about his conversation with Aqib Talib. Then, we hear the Peyton Manning interview from earlier today, when Peyton joined the CJ and Stokley show with Cecil Lammey filling in.
Trending up and Trending down, it’s The Closing Bell as trending up is Trevor Story after he had his thumb surgery yesterday because we’re being positive here as the Rox are continuing to produce regardless of losing Story. Russell Westbrook is also trending up because of his three year extension. Trending down is the Broncos Quarterback position and Michael Bennett of the Seahawks being kicked out of practice today.
The show wraps up with the fellas talking about the CU Buffs Football team and how they possibly missed out on a quality starting Quarterback in Davis Webb, who was once committed to CU, won the starting gig at Cal.
