The Drive with Ryan Edwards and Big Al on air talking Broncos football as we’re two days away from the official open of Training Camp. The Broncos cut a Long Snapper today and signed a Rookie Linebacker. The fellas break down the Running Back position and debate who’s going to be the top backup behind starter, CJ Anderson. We also break down the Quarterback position as Paxton Lynch was one of the three rookies that spoke earlier today after rookie practice out at the UC Health Training Center.
The Drive with Ryan Edwards and Big Al in studio as we are two days away from the start of Broncos Training Camp and a Long Snapper was cut today, Nathan Theus and the team signed rookie Linebacker Darnell Sankey. The fellas touch on the newly released Devin Hester as an option in the return game. The conversation switches to the Running Back situation regarding Ronnie Hillman, Kapri Bibbs and Devontae Booker. The debate begins about Hillman and Booker, both 24 years old, does Hillman have tread left on his tires?
The Big Three at 3:30 brings up the Cowboy’s Defensive Lineman Randy Gregory getting suspended for a failed drug test, Joey Bosa and the Chargers, Paxton Lynch and his thoughts on being a starter and Paxton giving away his weaknesses to the media.
The hour wraps with talk of the Broncos’ Offensive Line and their rotation. Is the team going to keep this idea? Alfred thinks it’s been a long time coming and should definitely be a part of the game plan.
Football at Four underway as Big Al mentions which team he thinks the Broncos could look like in history, the 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers but Ryan doesn’t think this Denver Offense has the firepower ready to be a top ten scoring offense.
Paxton Lynch is getting overloaded with knowledge right now. Alfred talks about a play back when Mike Shanahan called a play that the team hadn’t run in weeks, in one of the most important times of the season, he calls that play. Hall of Fame players didn’t know what their responsibilities were, cut Paxton some slack coming into the league.
The hour wraps up with talks about what this Broncos Offense could do now that they have a younger, more mobile Quarterback under the center now that Peyton Manning has retired.
The third and final hour on the road as Ryan Edwards and Big Al continue to break down the Broncos’ Quarterback position as we’re two days away from the official first full team practice down at the UC Health Training Center. The only statistic that counts for Defenses is Scoring Defense. The fellas look back on Gary Kubiak run offenses, i.e. the Ravens against the Patriots in the Playoffs a couple years ago, Kubiak owned Bill Belicheck’s Defense.
The Closing Bell, trending up and trending down, rings on the media as trending up because of the Media BBQ tomorrow out at Dove Valley and Eddie Lacy back at Packer camp. Jordy Nelson had a ‘hiccup’ with his left knee, placing him on the PUP list and the San Francisco 49ers are trending down because Colin Kaepernick was cleared TODAY to participate in drills.
The show wraps up with the fellas talking about game film and the importance of the film from the Preseason holds throughout the season. The stadium during the Preseason is quiet, the Quarterback is mic’d up, you can hear everybody’s calls and checks.
