The Drive, with Big Al and DMac, starts off talking about Bartolo Colon trademarking the “Big Sexy” nickname. We also hear from Bronco Ring of Famers Jason Elam and Simon Fletcher. Earl Boykins and Chad Brown both come in studio to talk about the NBA Draft Lottery, Coaching opportunities and the offseasons of both the NFL and NBA.
The Drive with Big Al and DMac gets going with the controversy of Mets’ Pitcher Bartolo Colon moving to trademark the nickname “Big Sexy.” The pecking order to the nickname goes: Kevin Nash, Bryan Beard THEN Bartolo Colon.
We hear the conversation we had yesterday with one of the Broncos’ newest Ring of Famers, Jason Elam. In case you missed it, you can hear it HERE!
The Big Three at 3:30 brings in Earl Boykins and touches on the NBA Draft Lottery, Mark Sanchez’s thumb injury, Cavaliers and Raptors,
The hour finishes with Earl and the fellas discussing past 7th overall picks in the NBA draft as the Nuggets lottery ball landed on seven in last night’s NBA Draft Lottery. Earl thinks the Nuggets have positioned themselves to move up in the draft with the three picks that they have in their possession for June’s NBA Draft.
The second hour of The Drive underway with Simon Fletcher, another new Broncos Ring of Famer, joins the show to talk about the honor of being selected for the Ring of Fame. The fellas reflect on Simon’s career and get his thoughts on this new Bronco Defense. Also, who the first person he called when he found out the news! Hear our conversation with Simon HERE!
Focus shifts to the current Broncos as Defensive backs were at the podium today out at Bronco OTA’s as we hear from Bradley Roby and Darian Stewart. We hear if Bradley Roby went to Casa Bonita for Cinco de Mayo.
The end of the hour the fellas touch on the NBA Playoffs with focus on the Warriors and Thunder. Also, the NBA Lottery went down last night and we toss around what the Nuggets will do with their three first round picks.
The third and final hour underway as Chad Brown is in studio with Big Al and DMac as we possibly find out where Chad will be doing his Coaching internship this season in the NFL. The guys talk about the politics of coaching in the NFL, people playing favorites, not hiring ex-players for reasons. Walt Weiss comes up as the guys break down his performance as the Manager of the Rockies. Bradley Roby thinks the Broncos could still go to another level because of all the mental mistakes last year.
The Closing Bell rings on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Colorado Rockies, the CU Buffs lose Davis Webb to California and the Broncos and Raiders trading barbs on Twitter.
The show ends talking about the NBA Draft and how Ben Simmons, LSU Forward, has told the Philadelphia 76ers that he does NOT want to be a part of that organization and he doesn’t want them to draft him in next month’s NBA Draft. AND Bartolo Colon is being sued for back child support.
