Schlereth & Evans – 5/16/16 – Monday’s show hears Ryan Edwards fill in for Mike Evans as he and Stink dive into a variety of different stories from the weekend that include the Rockies sweep of the Mets as well as the Raptors going to their first conference finals and the brawl on the diamond between the Blue Jays and Rangers. Rockies Baseball Insider Patrick Saunders joins the guys to talk about the sweep and current winning streak the team is on.

Hour One begins with Edwards and Stink discussing the impressive weekend play of the Colorado Rockies and how the pitching arms that we all have been waiting on are finally showing up on the mound this year. 

The guys then move on to The Morning Brew where they talk more Rockies sweep, the brawl in Arlington between the Rangers and Blue Jays and the Toronto Raptors making it to their first eastern conference finals in franchise history. 

The first hour closes with some chatter about a story of a 70 year old man who traveled solo in a row boat from NYC to London.

The second hour of Monday’s show began with Stink’s “Clear The Air” segment where he has a few words for those folks who complain about the fighting in baseball and how secretly those types of things will keep those same folks coming back for more. Hear Stink air it all out BELOW:

After Stink’s rant Rockies Insider Patrick Saunders joins the fellas to discuss the hottest stories from around baseball including the brawl in Texas yesterday as well as a few different Rockies topics consisting of the weekend sweep of the Mets, the starting pitching finally coming to fruition and why he thinks Carlos Gonzalez is slumping right now. The back half of the second hour consisted of 4 Down Territory where the gents discussed the Broncos being the most vulnerable team among the division winners, Adrian Peterson’s comments on his own QB reminding him of Tom Brady, former Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin wanting back into coaching and RB Jarryd Hayne retiring from the NFL and 49ers to return to Fiji and play rugby in this Summer’s Olympics.

Hour three starts off with Stink and Ryan discussing the lack of respect the Broncos are receiving in the national media and how both the Vegas odds and the idea that they are the most vulnerable division winner from last season will only act as fuel for this dominant defense heading towards the 2016 season.

The guys then move on to some Rockies chatter that contained thoughts on the starting pitching as well as whether or not this above average play will continue in the months ahead.   

Mark and Ryan closed hour three discussing some differing topics in relation to the NBA including the Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and Emmanuel Mudiay finishing 3rd and 7th respectively in Rookie of the Year voting and what OKC has to be able to do if they want to have a chance and knocking off heavily favored Golden State in the western conference finals beginning tonight.

The first half of overtime consisted of Edwards diving back into both “Clear The Air” as well as 4 Down Territory to discuss the hottest topics from both the MLB as well as from around the NFL.

Ryan then moves into the interview he and Stink had earlier this morning with Rockies baseball insider Patrick Saunders where the three gents chatted CarGo and his recent struggles, the starting pitching we’ve been waiting on for years finally beginning to come through and the slug fest yesterday afternoon between the Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers.
