Every NFL team with a head-coach opening has Ejiro Evero on their interview list

Make it five-for-five.
Tuesday night, the Arizona Cardinals requested permission to interview Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero for their head-coaching job. Until that happened, Arizona was the only team with a head-coach opening that didn’t put in that request.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero was the first to report Arizona’s interest.

The Broncos interviewed Evero in-person on Jan. 10. The Indianapolis Colts held a virtual interview with him last week. Houston interviewed Evero Tuesday. Carolina is expected to follow suit later this week.
Denver’s search continued with interviews of Sean Payton and Raheem Morris on Tuesday. Those candidates — like Jim Harbaugh and Jim Caldwell last week and Dan Quinn this Friday — have prior head-coaching experience. Another interviewee from last week, David Shaw, had 12 seasons as Stanford’s head coach.
So, Denver’s list remains high on prior head-coaching experience. Of the names on the Broncos’ ledger, only Evero and San Francisco defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans have never been head coaches.
Evero has just one season of defensive play-calling experience. He also turned down a chance to be the Broncos’ interim head coach. That left Jerry Rosburg to guide the Broncos back to port after a disastrous 5-12 finish.
But the Broncos’ massive disappointment wasn’t enough to keep Evero from being a hot name this month.
