Broncos injury report: Greg Dulcich’s season ends

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Greg Dulcich’s season will end the way it began — on injured reserve.
The Broncos placed their third-round pick on IR in the wake of the hamstring injury he suffered during last Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. It marked a frustrating conclusion to a campaign that got derailed in OTAs by a hamstring injury that saw him recover in fits and starts before the Broncos finally shelved him for the first five weeks of the regular season.
In between the two injured-reserve stints, Dulcich showed promise. He accumulated 33 receptions for 411 yards and 2 touchdowns. His reception and yardage tallies are the second-highest for a rookie tight end in Broncos history, trailing only Noah Fant in 2019.
Before officially putting Dulcich on injured reserve, the Broncos ruled him out for Sunday’s game in Kansas City.
Denver also ruled out offensive tackle Calvin Anderson and edge rusher Randy Gregory. Anderson did not practice this week because of an ankle injury he suffered in practice on Dec. 22. Gregory has not practiced in each of the last two weeks, although he played an eventful 11 snaps in last Sunday’s 51-14 defeat at Los Angeles.
Five players practiced Friday and are listed as questionable:
- Edge rusher Baron Browning (back)
- WR Kendall Hinton (hamstring)
- WR Jerry Jeudy (ankle)
- DL D.J. Jones (knee)
Browning and Jones sat out each of the previous two days before returning Friday.
CB Damarri Mathis also landed on the injury report for the first time this week with a knee issue. He saw limited work Friday. However, he is expected to play, as the Broncos did not denote him as questionable.
