Hackett calls Broncos performance in L.A. “embarrassing, unacceptable”

We were all thinking it.
The head coach of the Broncos said it after Denver’s pitiful performance against the Rams on Christmas Day. Nathaniel Hackett was visibly upset at his postgame press conference after the Broncos were crushed, 51-14 by Los Angeles.
In a season full of lows, this game was by far the lowest. The Broncos got in a bizarre fight on the sidelines and edge-rusher Randy Gregory was in a scuffle postgame. If this isn’t rock bottom, it’s hard to figure out what is.
“Everybody’s frustrated. That was a bad game. Embarrassing game. That’s the first one that we’ve had like that, so I know everybody’s frustrated,” Hackett said. “We can’t show our frustrations. We’ve got to take our frustrations out on the field the right way.”
The Broncos are now 4-11 on the year. Hackett’s fate appears all but sealed, with him possibly losing his job as early as tomorrow morning. Hackett said Denver’s meltdowns were a product of how this disastrous season has played out.
“I think they’re upset for all the losing. We all are. Every one of us, it’s unacceptable. That’s not what we’re about. That’s not what we want to do. We went in with a mindset that we were going to be able to win this game, but in the end we weren’t ready,” Hackett said.
The Broncos weren’t ready at all. Russell Wilson threw two early interceptions and Denver was down 17-0 before anyone could blink. Things got worse from there, with emotions boiling over.
There’s not much more to say, other than this was a completely miserable Christmas in California.
