The Avalanche showed off a new “Reverse Retro” jersey on social media on Thursday morning.
The team can wear the sweater between two and eight times this season, according to the NHL. This edition follows up the very successful one unveiled in 2020, that paid homage to Colorado’s previous home, the Quebec Nordiques.

In fact, the whole NHL unveiled their Reverse Retro editions at the same time on Thursday. You can see them here on the league’s website.
“The Stanley Cup champions honor their inaugural, and first Stanley Cup championship, season by paying homage to their state. The center “C” crest is derived from the state flag and the angled stripes mimic the Rocky Mountains.” the NHL wrote to describe the latest Avalanche jersey.
This one is obviously a cool tribute to the state, but it may not be received quite as well as the original one back in 2020, shown in the main photo of this story as worn by Cale Makar.
Information for fans wanting to buy the jersey is also in the NHL’s story. There’s no word yet on when the Avs will sport them on the ice this season.
