Storm the field!
That’s what fans of the CU Buffs did on Saturday afternoon, after the program earned it’s first win of the season, a 20-13 OT thriller against Cal.
Colorado lost the coin toss after regulation, but scored a spectacular touchdown on their first overtime possession. QB J.T. Shrout hit wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig in the corner of the end zone. The pass was initially ruled incomplete, but Lemonious-Craig got a foot down and it was called a score after review.
WHAT A CATCH!! CLUTCH TD IN OT!

The CU defense held Cal on the following possession, getting a stop on fourth-and-goal to preserve the victory. Interim head coach Mike Sanford earned his first win leading the Buffs, after Colorado fired Karl Dorrell 13 days ago. CU improves to 1-5 after the 0-5 start got Dorrell canned.
And a rambunctious student section, that attended the game really well for such a bad team, let out a ton of joy and made their way onto the field after the game.

Good for Sanford, good for the Buffs, good for the fans and good for the University. Even if that’s their only win of the season, at least CU won’t go winless. That would have been a stain on the program, but is now something they don’t have to think about.
