It’s official!
The Colorado Avalanche raised their third championship banner to the rafters at Ball Arena on Wednesday night, the final piece of the puzzle to complete the 2022 Stanley Cup celebration.

That was awesome to watch, especially seeing former Colorado defenseman Jack Johnson, now with the Blackhawks, soak in the moment.
The Avs received their rings to commemorate the title on Monday, so it’s all wrapped up. There’s nothing left to celebrate from last season and it’s officially all about this year. The task at hand is trying to repeat as champions, something Colorado is favored to do.
Ball Arena is electric, as the puck just dropped against the Chicago Blackhawks in the first matchup of the season. The 82-game grind is upon us, with 20-plus more contests looming in the playoffs.
It was a great summer and a great night, we even got to see a sing-along with Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus pregame.

Hopefully we get to do it all over again with another parade through the streets of downtown Denver in about nine months. And another banner raising ceremony next October.
