Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II is questionable to return against the Texans with a shoulder injury.
It’s unclear when Surtain got hurt, but he missed a drive in the second quarter while talking with team doctors. The team then announced his injury status.

Surtain, a former first-round pick out of Alabama, is arguably Denver’s best defender. Justin Simmons, the other guy in that conversation, is already on injured reserve and won’t return until mid-October at the earliest.
The Broncos also lost wide receiver Jerry Jeudy in the first quarter to a shoulder injury as well. He’s also questionable to return.
Denver currently trails Houston 6-3 in a lackluster home opener.
(Update 4:14 p.m.) –
Bad news, as Surtain and Jeudy are both out for the game. We should learn more postgame.
Injury update: CB Pat Surtain II (shoulder) and WR Jerry Jeudy (shoulder) have both been downgraded to OUT.
