Sep 8, 2022, 2:55 PM
The Denver Broncos open their 2022 NFL season, facing off against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
Time: Monday, Sept. 12, 6:15 p.m. Mountain Time
Location: Lumen Field, Seattle
TV: ABC/ESPN/ESPN 2
Radio: KOA 850 AM | 94.1 FM
Stream: ESPN+/Watch ESPN
Pregame and postgame show: 104.3 The Fan broadcasts right up until kickoff and as soon as the final whistle sounds, while DenverFan.com also hosts digital shows that will air at 5:15 p.m. and right after the game on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
The television broadcast will be voiced by ESPN’s Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, with Lisa Salters on the sidelines. The game will also be a Manningcast game with Peyton and Eli Manning providing their commentary on ESPN 2. This will be the first Buck and Aikman Monday Night Football game after the pair moved over after years of working at FOX.
The Broncos went 2-1 in the preseason, winning both their games at home, while the Seahawks lost all three of their preseason games. This is the first time we’ll see much of Denver’s first team after they sat for the entire exhibition slate.
The talk of this game is Russell Wilson, the new star quarterback of the Broncos who spent a decade in Seattle and won a Superbowl for the Seahawks. The trade sent many assets back to the Pacific coast, including Drew Lock, who lost the battle for starting quarterback. The deal also sent former Broncos Noah Fant and Shelby Harris to Seattle.
The game is also the debut for new Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett, who came over from Green Bay, where he last worked as the offensive coordinator.
The Broncos are 35-19-0 (Home: 22-5 / Away: 13-14-0) all-time against the Seahawks; their last meeting was in 2018 when Denver defended home turf and won 27-24. The former division foes have played against each other since 1977, becoming less frequent since the Seahawks moved to the NFC about 20 years ago.
A win would equal Denver’s 200th road victory ever.
The Broncos continue their season next week at home, hosting the Texans; you can see the entire schedule here.
