If the Denver Nuggets are going to take a leap to the next level in the 2022-23 season, their budding stars will need to step up.
That includes forward Michael Porter Jr., who played just nine games a year ago thanks to some major back problems.
But head coach Michael Malone insists Porter is healthy and ready to go, and boy does he look that way in a new video posted on Tuesday morning. This one will have Nuggets fans pumped up.

Wow! That is just so pure. He quite literally couldn’t miss, except for just one shot. Porter is a career 41.9 percent shooter from distance, so the stroke has always been there. He made 44.5 percent of his threes in the 2020-21 season, the last time he was truly healthy.
And this isn’t the only video of Porter making the rounds. He also played in a pickup game with NBA stars Steph Curry and Trae Young. Here’s the YouTube video of that.

Of course if everything goes right for Porter and the Nuggets this year, he’ll hopefully see Curry in a playoff rematch that he missed in the 2022 postseason. Denver fell to Golden State in five games, and the Warriors went on to once again win the whole thing.
Back-to-back MVP Nikola Jokic is obviously the key to the Nuggets season, with the health of Jamal Murray paramount as well. But Porter could be the x-factor on this team, and both these videos are very promising signs.
