The Colorado Avalanche are headed to their first Stanley Cup Final since 2001 thanks to Artturi Lehkonen’s game-winning overtime goal in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
The Avs staged a furious comeback in the third period, rallying from deficits of 3-1 and 4-2 to stun the Edmonton Oilers 6-5 and sweep the series. They scored three times on five consecutive shots in under six minutes during the final frame to take a 5-4 lead but the Oilers scored to tie it back up at 5-5.
That’s when Lehkonen scored the winner at the 1:19 mark of overtime.
