City of Philadelphia gives Embiid ridiculous award after Jokic earns MVP

Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic beat out Joel Embiid for MVP this season fair and square, his second straight time winning the award.
“The Joker” received 65 first place votes with Embiid getting just 26, so Jokic won in a landslide. And while he celebrates in Serbia without a care in the world, Embiid is very upset. Not winning MVP has clearly struck a chord with him, so the city of Philadelphia did something to try to help him feel better on Thursday morning.
Philly City Council just passed a resolution that names Joel Embiid our MVP – "Most Valuable Philadelphian"

Sources confirm Nikola Jokić garnered zero votes. https://t.co/qZJR5UKRSm

This is real. Anna Orso is a verified reporter with the Philadelphia Inquirer (let’s just hope she doesn’t run their lame social media account). My immediate reaction overall: Are you kidding me?!
How can Embiid be so soft about taking a loss that the city council has to make up a fake award to help him feel better? And don’t these people have better things to do? Like addressing a massive homelessness problem that’s now plaguing the city’s subway system?
I’ll just keep watching Jokic getting his second MVP on a horse-drawn chariot halfway across the world while Philadelphia makes up awards and doesn’t solve real problems.
Boom, roasted!
