Nikola Jokic is not the typical NBA player; he’s a two-time MVP, second-round pick, and Serbian stable guy.
When the Denver Nuggets found out their center won the National Basketball Association’s Most Valuable Player Award for the second year in a row, the team wanted to have a personal party for their star. They flew to Jokic’s hometown, Sombor, Serbia, to celebrate the award with No. 15’s friends and family.
We knew Jokic won MVP, and the party clearly meant a lot to him based on last week’s award announcement. What we didn’t get was much of a reaction from the Nuggets organization or find out how the party came together. On Wednesday, the team released a video on YouTube where they detailed the party, with interviews from team president Josh Kroenke, coach Micheal Malone and other essential people in the MVP’s life.

Some highlights:
- Kroenke said he had never been to Serbia
- The MVP trophy snuck through a few airports
- The trophy being too heavy for Joker’s wife
- Kroenke recalling seeing highlights of Jokic before being drafted
- Dreamcatcher and more
