Rockies have 0.2 percent playoff odds, zero chance to win World Series

The Colorado Rockies are going to be very bad in 2022, at least according to FanGraphs.
The popular baseball analytics website is predicting the Rockies will win between 65 and 66 games this season and have almost no shot at the postseason. FanGraphs projects Colorado’s postseason odds at .2 percent and gives the team a 0.0 percent chance to win the World Series.
For context, the Los Angeles Dodgers have a 95.7 percent chance to make the playoffs and a 14.9 percent chance to win the World Series. The Rockies are just one of six teams (Orioles, Nationals, Cubs, Pirates, Diamondbacks) with a 0.0 percent chance to win it all.
Fewer than five years ago the Rockies had star power and made the playoffs, earning Wild Card berths in 2017 and 2018. But with DJ Lemahieu, Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story all departing the team no longer has many (if any) household names and clearly needs a jolt. Reports surfaced on Monday afternoon the team is pursuing former NL MVP Kris Bryant, but there was no deal yet.
Regardless if they land Bryant or not, the outlook for the 2022 Rockies is bleak. It doesn’t even feel right to quote Dumb and Dumber telling you there’s a chance, because it really feels like there’s none at all.
