Jokic’s agent hints MVP will sign super-max extension with Nuggets soon

It’s looking more and more like Nikola Jokic will be a Nugget for life.
By all accounts Jokic loves Denver and wants to play his entire career here, but the MVP will soon put pen to paper on another massive deal with the team.
Jokic’s agent Misko Raznatovic was recently on the URBONUS podcast and said a super-max for his client should be coming in a few months.
“According to our expectations, it should be signed this summer. The extension of the maximum amount, what he obviously deserved,” Raznatovic said of the super-max deal.
NBC Sports reports the extension for Jokic will be between $253M and $270M over five years. Last summer, ESPN’s Bobby Marks reported the extension would be the largest contract in NBA history.
Jokic signed a 5-year, $148M extension with the Nuggets in the summer of 2018. Since then he’s continued to improve at an unbelievable rate, including winning MVP last season.
“The Joker” just turned 27 and is once again in contention to win MVP, keeping the Nuggets afloat this year with Michael Porter Jr. out most of the season and Jamal Murray yet to play a game.
With the ongoing Altitude / Comcast dispute making it difficult for most of Denver to watch, Jokic still might be flying a bit under the radar. That sounds crazy, but it’s true.
Jokic isn’t on the level of John Elway, Joe Sakic and Peyton Manning yet, but if he brings a title to Denver he will be soon. And the good news is it looks like he’ll be in Denver for a long, long time.
