It’s a good news / bad news day for the Broncos on the injury front

Nov 8, 2021, 11:39 AM

On Sunday, the Broncos pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season, beating the Cowboys by a 30-16 count in Dallas. It was a huge victory, as Denver entered the game as a double-digit favorite.

The win puts the Broncos at 5-4, squarely in the thick of the playoff race. Denver plays Philadelphia on Sunday at Empower Field, before hitting their bye week. Thus, they’re in a great spot for a stretch run.

The Broncos ability to compete for the postseason could be hampered by injuries, however. The team has already suffered a rash of them, with more coming in the victory over the Cowboys.

On Monday, more was revealed about the severity of the two most critical. It was a good news / bad news situation.

First, the good news. It appears as though Pat Surtain avoided anything major.

It wasn’t all so encouraging, however. Graham Glasgow is going to be out awhile.

Glasgow was replaced on Sunday by rookie Quinn Meinerz. In part, that was because Netane Muti was unavailable due to COVID protocols. Both are candidates to fill the void at right guard.
