The Colorado Avalanche will be without its captain as they take on the Blues in St. Louis this weekend.
Per 104.3 The Fan Avs Insider Adrian Dater, Colorado’s Gabe Landeskog joins teammate Tyson Jost on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list and will remain in Denver for the next few days in isolation from his team and hockey activities.
The news comes less than 24 hours after Thursday night’s matchup with the Wild was postponed when five Minnesota players landed on the same list.
It’s Landeskog’s second stint on the COVID-19 protocol list, as the Avs center was one of a handful of players to miss a portion of training camp due to exposure to the virus.
In 11 games this season, Landeskog has played 224 minutes, tallying three goals and five assists for the Avalanche.
As of Thursday, Colorado is tied with St. Louis in the West Division with 15 points on the season with a record of 7-3-1.
The teams are due to play a two-game series over the weekend, and as of publication the games are still slated to take place.
