Stokley: Best for Broncos if Vance Joseph is the head coach in 2019

Quite a difference a month has made for the Denver Broncos, specifically head coach Vance Joseph.

Just a few weeks removed from a growing consensus that Joseph might be looking for new work at the end of this season, the Denver head coach looks to have secured at least another season at the Broncos helm.

“Vance Joseph will be around in 2019. He should be around in 2019,” said “Stokley and Zach” co-host Brandon Stokley on Monday.

Stokley said he believes Joseph has “done enough” to keep his job heading into next season, which he said only serves to make the Broncos stronger.

“You don’t want change. You want continuity, you want consistency, and you want stability,” Stokley said. “This thing is getting better. I think that’s why you’ve seen this football team take that next step and start winning these close games.”

Earlier on Monday, 104.3 The Fan’s Orlando Franklin said credit is due to Joseph for getting his players to work together and fight for their team.

“Vance Joseph, you’ve got to credit him because he has these guys playing inspired football,” Franklin said. “He has these guys not giving up.”

But in the end, “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Mike Pritchard said Monday, even if Joseph leads his team to a 10-6 season, rolling off seven consecutive wins, it might not save his job if the right person is available in the offseason.

“I don’t think and I don’t suggest and I don’t believe Vance Joseph should lose his job if they go 10-6. But if the Broncos think that there is an upgrade out there, I think the Broncos will go get it,” Pritchard said.
