Schlereth: Broncos need ‘us against the world’ mentality vs. Chiefs

The Denver Broncos stand in front of a fairly tall task this weekend taking on the Kansas City Chiefs on the road.
The Broncos (3-4) sit as 11-point underdogs while the Chiefs (6-1) have an 82 percent probability of winning, according to FiveThirtyEight.com.
Not to mention the team finds itself amid several off-field distractions, including the arrest and release of backup quarterback Chad Kelly this week.
So, on Thursday, “Schlereth and Evans” co-host Mark Schlereth said Denver needs to dig deep to find that motivation to take Kansas City in Arrowhead on Sunday.
“I believe in the power of ‘us against the world.’ I believe in rallying around whatever you need to rally around,” Schlereth said.
Schlereth said that the Broncos need not dismiss the notion that this is them versus the world because few think Denver stands a chance against Kansas City.
“I believe you, as a football team, the Denver Broncos, need to rally around that as much as humanly possible,” Schlereth said. “Why? Because I don’t think you’re as good as the Kansas City Chiefs. I think you need the help.”
“Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Cecil Lammey championed a similar argument on Thursday.
“Nobody, and I mean not a single person outside of that locker room, believes you can win this game,” Lammey said. “So Broncos, good, focus on the Chiefs. Go out and prove everybody wrong.”
