Clough: Broncos home no-shows could double if team continues to lose

Oct 18, 2018, 11:56 AM

During the Denver Broncos latest home game, and fourth consecutive loss, against the Los Angeles Rams, more than 9,100 failed to show up.

To be exact, 9,131 did not make it to Broncos Stadium at Mile High, the largest number of no-shows since 2010.

But if Denver can’t pull off at least one win in the next two games on the road — Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals and on Oct. 28 against the Kansas City Chiefs — 104.3 The Fan host Sandy Clough thinks the number of no-shows could double.

“The Broncos notice no-shows. And if it was 9,100 the other day, who’s to say it won’t be 15,000 to 20,000 when Houston comes in on Nov. 4 prior to the bye week?” Clough said.

And what determines the number of non-attendees, Clough said, doesn’t have much to do with anything other than if the Broncos continue to lose or not.

“I don’t think the attendance that day and the number of no-shows will be determined by who the head coach is or the head coach is not,” Clough said. “I really don’t.”
