The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE IN STUDIO!!! The guys talk about Vance Joseph living in the past, and Big Al tells DMac what he dreamed about last night. DMac says it starts at the top for the Broncos & their problems, and changes need to be made because the ‘rings’ excuse is already getting old.
DMac tells Al he is now an Arizona Cardinals expert, and Big Al wonders why we should be afraid of any Cardinals players besides Larry Fitzgerald & David Johnson. Dmac says Josh Rosen is athletic & active, they are ultra-aggressive on defense, and Rosen is better than Case Keenum.
In the Big 3, Al & DMac discuss John Mara & Odell Beckham Jr. and why it’s too late to expect Beckham Jr. to ‘play more and talk less.’ Al tells Nick Bosa loyalty to your college program is overrated & asks DMac what he thinks about Amari Cooper being on the trade block.
The guys talk about Vance Joseph living in the past, and Big Al tells DMac what he dreamed about last night. Big Al can’t get over the rush yards being given up by Denver’s defense, and tells DMac he hasn’t like Joe Woods’ gameplan.
Big Al tells DMac a conflict of interest story about Larry Fitzgerald Sr. and points out that too many smart QBs struggle with this Cardinals offense & every other successful offense right now is innovative & new-age.
Big Al struggles with separating from the past & becoming an innovative new offense, and DMac says you can’t have it both ways. Al wants to commit to a certain style, and DMac says you need to find a style with a new QB.
Al says you can’t just flop a QB out there & hope it works, there must be a system in place first. Al points out the linebackers & safeties a young QB must work against, and says Keenum can’t make the right reads in the red-zone.
DMac says it starts at the top for the Broncos & their problems, and changes need to be made because the ‘rings’ excuse is already getting old.
DMac says if you pair Josh Rosen with the right coach, look out. Al agrees with DMac that we took our time with Peyton Manning for granted, and looks around for great offensive minds to bring in. The guys talk about college prospects that might fall to the Broncos in the draft, and DMac takes a look at second-round QBs.
Al asks DMac about Case Keenum’s abilities coming off play-action, and we hear from Keenum about the shots he likes to take coming off play-action. Big Al wants Case Keenum the gunslinger, not Case Keenum the rookie.
The guys take calls on replacing Keenum or fixing the system here in Denver. Al notes the Broncos will be playing in a dome on Thursday, and Keenum should play well.
