Lammey: OK the Broncos seem to be flying under the radar nationally

In the latest ESPN NFL Power Rankings, the Denver Broncos jumped up eight spaces from a preseason ranking of No. 22 to the No. 16 position.
But with the large leap aside, it’s the two AFC West teams ahead of the Broncos on the list that has “Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Cecil Lammey saying Denver’s flying under the radar on a national level.
“There is no doubt that the Denver Broncos are still under the radar from the national perspective,” Lammey said. “That’s an advantage for the Denver Broncos.”

On the list ahead of the Broncos is the Los Angeles Chargers, who remain ahead of Denver despite getting “waxed,” Lammey said, by the Kansas City Chiefs, who jumped up to sixth.
“… You’re putting the Charger at 13 and they haven’t won a game? A team with serious flaws. A team with big-time injuries. That team’s better than the Denver Broncos?” Lammey said. “And please, please everyone stop on this Kansas City hype train. There are things to be excited about with the Chiefs, but they’re at No. 6?
“Does anybody look at the Kansas City Chiefs as a borderline top-five team in the NFL? I don’t. And you shouldn’t either.”

But Lammey said it’s a good thing for Denver to not be ranked higher as it means they can shock teams moving forward.
“This power ranking just kind of shows the national perspective is still slow to come around on the Denver Broncos. They’re under the radar, and that’s OK,” Lammey said. “Because under the radar, they can still take teams by surprise, and they can still come out in full force and maybe move up those power rankings.”
