How high is the ceiling for Broncos rookie WR Courtland Sutton?

The praise for Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Courtland Sutton through the first week of training camp has been abundant and strong.

On Wednesday, safety Will Parks called him not only a “young (Demaryius Thomas) in the flesh) but also the “LeBron James of the field.”

Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said on Wednesday the club was excited when Sutton was available early in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft, adding it’s fun to work with young players who have the “drive and desire like he does.”

“He’s going to be young, and I know he’s going to improve as he goes along,” Musgrave said.

But exactly how high can Sutton’s ceiling be?

Alfred Williams, co-host of “The Drive with Big Al and DMac,” said Sutton is the “truth.”

“That guy is going to produce in a way that we haven’t seen around here from a young guy in a long time,” Williams said.

“Pritchard and Cecil” co-host Mike Pritchard said Sutton is a “difference maker” and the faster he becomes the No. 1 receiver, the better the Broncos offense will be.

But perhaps the loftiest praise came from someone who wore the same No. 14 for the Broncos that Sutton wears, Brandon Stokley.

The “Stokley and Zach” co-host said he racked his brain thinking of anyone who’s had as an impressive a start to training camp as Sutton, and he believes he could push for Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2018.

“He could have a huge impact on this team this year. You’re talking about possibly rookie of the year type of season from Courtland Sutton, and I don’t say that lightly,” Stokley said. “He has impressed me every single day. Every single day. I haven’t seen anything from him where I say, ‘Ah, he’s a rookie. The rookie’s showing up.’ Not one time.

“The guy’s got a chance to be really, really good, and I’m serious when I say that guy could be offensive rookie of the year this year.”
