DMac: ‘Mistake’ if Broncos don’t play WR Sutton as much as possible

For the second week in a row, Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Courtland Sutton has impressed during OTAs, so much so that “The Drive’ host DMac said he should be on the field as much as he can.
“If Courtland Sutton is not out on the field as much as humanly possible, the Broncos are making a mistake,” DMac said on Tuesday.
Among the strong plays Sutton made during practice on Tuesday was a touchdown grab on a dart from backup quarterback Chad Kelly.
And the rookie has even earned the endorsement of the veteran wide receiver in front of him on the depth chart, Demaryius Thomas.
“I feel like you can throw Courtland in right now, throw (DaeSean) Hamilton in, throw a couple more guys in right now and make plays for us,” Thomas said.
“… From what I have seen so far, they listen and learn what the coaches say — what me and Emmanuel are telling them. And they’re picking it up quick. It will only get better and better from there.”
Thomas called both Sutton and fellow rookie DaeSean Hamilton “smart,” saying they “know the game” already.
“All the talent in the world — we’re just trying to get them better and better every day,” Thomas said.
DMac’s co-host Alfred “Big Al” Williams, however, cautioned Broncos fans getting ahead of themselves, despite calling Sutton “big” and “super athletic.”
“We don’t know what it looks like until training camp,” Williams said.
But among the only issues DMac said there is with Sutton is how is he going to get playing time with Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders ahead of him and Hamilton on the depth chart.
“How are you going to get him enough playing time with Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas,” DMac said.
