The Drive with DMac & Troy Renck LIVE from Blake St. Tavern! DMac says Lamar Jackson’s pro-day didn’t help the bias, and Troy is intrigued Jackson put on 20 lbs. of muscle in the offseason. Troy & DMac debate Wonderlic test scores & how much weight they carry in the draft process. Troy is excited about CarGo being back in the lineup & starting in Right Field, and the guys agree we are about to see more HRs in baseball & more strikeouts.
The guys talk about Ian Happ’s HR to begin Opening Day, and DMac is excited about Eric Decker being here in Denver, but Troy is quick to remind him the Broncos want their third WR to play Special Teams. Also, DMac says Lamar Jackson’s pro-day didn’t help the bias, and Troy is intrigued Jackson put on 20 lbs. of muscle in the offseason. Troy & DMac debate Wonderlic test scores & how much weight they carry in the draft process. Troy is excited about CarGo being back in the lineup & starting in Right Field, and the guys agree we are about to see more HRs in baseball & more strikeouts. Also, the idea of Eric Decker as the Broncos’ 3rd WR and how badly the guys want to see Decker back in Denver. The guys talk about Sister Jean & Loyola’s chances at a run in the Final Four, and the Sister Jean bobbleheads & likeliness being sold with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Loyola Athletic Fund and the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
DMac brings up Eric Decker’s toughness, and says that’s something Denver could use out of their 3WR slot in 2018. Also, DMac gets Troy’s thoughts on Lamar Jackson’s superb pro-day & underwhelming Wonderlic score, and how they will play into slotting him in the draft. Troy says Lamar Jackson needs to be making himself more available to the media, but it helps that he’s added weight before going into the draft. The guys debate what teams in the draft would have interest in Jackson, and if there’s a chance he falls past pick No. 15 overall. Also, Greg Holland’s new deal in St. Louis and how many games CarGo will start this year for the Rockies. The guys talk about the challenges Baker has as he enters the NFL Draft, including being too short. DMac thinks of moments in his life that would qualify for the #BakerChallenge & Troy laughs at him. The guys get excited for Opening Day, and encourage Rockies fans to come down to Blake St. to support their local baseball team. DMac asks Troy about the cap on number of mound visits in a game, and what happens if the ‘6’ threshold is reached.
The guys talk about where Denver messed up with Sloter, and if Chad Kelly has a shot to make the team. Troy goes over the Broncos’ dead cap if they cut Paxton, and says Sony Michel will be an intriguing RB to take in the later rounds. Also, Troy says he’s been told the Broncos like DeAngelo Henderson from multiple sources. Also, Troy previews the pitching matchup between Gray of the Rockies & Corbin of the Diamondbacks. The guys review Ian Happ’s HR off the first pitch of Opening Day 2018, and Troy says the Miami Marlins are going to struggle to say the least. Marlins Man, the Marlins’ most prominent fan could not reach an agreement with team officials & will not be sitting behind home plate with season tickets this year, and DMac & Troy agree it’s a good move for Miami. DMac says Eric Decker is only here for personal reasons, not because he is going to be the Broncos’ next WR3. Troy explains why the Broncos third WR role profiles to be Carlos Henderson, and how a player with Special Teams talent can nail down a roster spot at that position. Also, DMac thinks the Broncos’ TE position has been addressed with Jake Butt.
