The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Thomas Harding of MLB.com joins the show with an update on Rockies pitchers & catchers and how Gerardo Parra is coming along after wrist surgery.
The guys talk about the value of AJ McCarron, and DMac tells Al he agrees with the morning show about McCarron being comparable to Trevor Siemian. Big Al says DMac is mistaken, and can’t see how he is coming up with the analogy. Also, whether or not DMac has been flip-flopping on McCarron. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, Big Al talks about Red Stripe saving the day in the Jamaican bobsled saga, and DMac notes the Miami Marlins news about some players being happy Stanton & Yelich are gone. Thomas Harding of MLB.com joins the show with an update on Rockies pitchers & catchers and how Parra is coming along after wrist surgery. Harding breaks down the Rockies projected starting lineup, and how David Dahl can become another Charlie Blackmon. Also, how Charlie Blackmon can make an MVP case hitting out of the leadoff spot. Listen to the interview HERE!
The guys talk WRs to look for in the NFL Draft, and free agent WRs like Paul Richardson. Al & DMac discuss Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas’ future in Denver, and why DT’s contract situation likely depends on what happens with Dez Bryant in Dallas. Also, DMac says the best decision is to get rid of both DT & Sanders. DMac says we’ve seen what we got in our current wide receivers, and Big Al wonders about bringing in John Brown, Eric Decker, Allen Robinson or Jarvis Landry. DMac brings up Big Al’s beef with Baker Mayfield, and why Baker needs to learn how to be mature. Also, what will happen with the Browns’ pick if they land McCarron, teams that could jump up to draft a QB, and a gentleman’s bet on John Elway taking Rosen or Allen at No. 1 overall. DMac breaks down why Josh Allen is Elway’s perfect QB, and why Elway favors Allen’s skill-set, mental awareness & leadership skills. Also, Big Al breaks down why Rosen profiles as the best pick in the draft.
Big Al explains why Schlereth & Evans don’t understand what’s about to happen with AJ McCarron, and why there are no overwhelming arms in the 2018 NFL Draft. Also, Al is questioned on his QB criteria & what makes for a successful NFL QB, and Al says DMac is ungrateful for the Super Bowl Elway & Peyton landed in 2016. The guys take calls on if we’ve seen enough from AJ McCarron to be encouraged about paying him as our QB1. Big Al tries to find elite talent in the draft, and makes a case for McCarron as an upgrade over Trevor Siemian. Big Al says the QB needs a brilliant offensive coordinator to make things work on offense. Al says the Broncos haven’t been dominant on offense since Gase & Manning, and the Seahawks finally figured out the Gase gameplan in the final game of the year.
