The Larry Eustacy era at Colorado State may be nearing an end.
Per a report from the Denver Post on Thursday, CSU intends to terminate the Rams men’s basketball coach’s contract for violating a zero-tolerance policy regarding abusive behavior toward players and staff stemming from an investigation into his conduct in 2013.

However, the Fort Collins Coloradoan reports that no decision has yet been made about Eustachy’s future, according to CSU system president and chancellor Tony Frank.
The Denver Post report comes just days after CSU athletic director Joe Parker asked Eustachy to take a temporary leave of absence while the university conducted a “climate assessment” of the program.
“We are diligently working through this assessment as expeditiously as possible, understanding the importance of a thorough and fair process,” Parker said in a statement. “No conclusions have been made.”
An investigation in 2013-’14 discovered a “culture of feat an intimidation” with Eustacy’s program and that the coach emotionally abused his players, per a report from former Rams athletic director Jack Graham.
In his first year in Fort Collins, Eustachy took CSU to the NCAA Tournament on the back of a 26-9 record. However, it was the Rams last trip to the Big Dance despite a school-best single-season record in 2014-’15 (27-7, .794).
The 2017-’18 season has been the lowest point for the CSU men’s team during Eustachy’s tenure, with the Rams heading into Saturday’s game at home against San Jose State on a seven-game losing streak and a 10-16 record.
