Amy Seglund joins Terry to say Montrose is lucky to have all that alpine habitat, and highlights the elusive Ptarmigan, the bird that turns totally white in the winter & brown in the summer. Hunting opportunities are discussed, high-elevation hiking, and the Pika that make the calls in the rocks. Also, the endemic brown-capped rosy finch & using calls to find the cryptic Ptarmigan that mold into their background so Montrose can mark, count & list them.
