Darian Stewart to the Pro Bowl, Marcus Robertson named Defensive Backs coach

The Drive with Big Al and DMac have a lot to talk about today as Darian Stewart was named to the Pro Bowl, replacing Eric Berry. Also, the Broncos interviewed Greg McMahon for their Special Teams coach position after interviewing Richard Hightower yesterday. Cecil Lammey and Troy Renck join the show to talk about this new-look Broncos coaching staff as the team officially brought in Marcus Robertson to coach their Defensive Backs.
The Drive with Big Al and DMac LIVE in studio get the show started by talking about how it seems that Denver sports teams have had a tendency of having their decision makers hiring their friends to coach… i.e. the Broncos with John Elway/Gary Kubiak and Joe Sakic/Patrick Roy. It doesn’t seem to work in the long run. Then, we hear from Mike Tomlin from earlier this afternoon on Antonio Brown’s video streaming post-game this weekend. The Big Three at 3:30 brings up the Broncos, now official, hiring of Marcus Robertson as their new Defensive Backs coach, the holding call on Eric Fisher this weekend that, in essence, cost the Chiefs tying the game against the Steelers and Phil Jackson meets with Carmelo Anthony to question his desire to continue employment by the New York Knicks. Cecil Lammey, our Fan Broncos Insider joins the show LIVE from Tampa, where he’s covering the East-West Shrine game. The guys discuss what Mike Tomlin had to say earlier today regarding Antonio Brown’s video. Next, the guys talk about the Shrine game and some of the prospects that are set to stick out this weekend. Football at Four underway with the fellas talking about Kyle Shanahan to San Francisco as reports come out that the 49ers are holding their Head Coaching position for Shanahan. Also, we tackle the thought of Philip Rivers to Denver. The third and final hour of The Drive gets rolling with the audio of Steelers’ Head Coach Mike Tomlin from earlier this afternoon talking about Antonio Brown’s decision to video stream in the locker room after Pittsburgh’s win against Kansas City. The Closing Bell rings on Kyle Shanahan for the way the Falcons’ Offense has been playing and that the 49ers’ Head job is his for the taking. Also trending up are the NFL Playoffs after last weekend’s games. Trending down are the CSU Rams and New Mexico Lobos after their altercation after their game this weekend and Anthony Lynn calling the L.A. Chargers the “San Diego” Chargers.
