8/18/16 – Mike and Mark are back at Broncos “Champ Camp” for the last time in 2016; Insider Thursday with our NFL Insiders from ESPN Adam Schefter and our very own Cecil Lammey; QB leader board, Morning Brew; Clear the Air; 4 Down Territory; Question Mark.
The guys start the show at UC Health Training Center for the last day of Champ Camp. They review the “butt-whooping” the Broncos put on the 49ers in the first of two joint practices yesterday. Mike doesn’t think either Sanchez or Siemian has stood out that mush above the other. Our QB Leaderboard with Gary Kubiak raving about how his signal callers played yesterday. Our NFL Insider Adam Schefter joined the fellas to talk about the latest news around the NFL including the possible suspensions regarding HGH for players if they do not meet with the league, also the Buffalo Bills terrible offseason continuing with Marcell Dareus’ suspension, also Adam weighs in on Pat Bowlen’s HOF snub. The Morning Brew featuring Aqib Talib’s possible suspension, the 49ers QB issues, and the Ryan Lochte robbery case takes a weird turn. Stink ends the hour talking about the improved offense and the improved offensive line, with reports of Russell Okung taking charge out there, it is encouraging for the offense.
Hour two starts out with Mark’s “Clear the Air” segment talking about how the Broncos didn’t take it easy on the 49ers yesterday in day one of joint practices. Mike talks about the depth this defense has in guys like Justin Simmons and Shane Ray waiting in the wings in case the vets are injured. Former NFL QB Jim Miller from Sirius NFL Radio jumped on to talk about the QB’s and knows that both Trevor Siemian and Mark Sanchez are just keeping the seat warm for rookie Paxton Lynch, also he talks about the great play of the defense in preseason Week 1. Miller also compared Paxton Lynch’s raw abilities to…John Elway. 4 Down Territory featured the Broncos and Niners joint practices; the Seahawks players wearing GPS’, and Jordy Nelson returning to practice in Green Bay. The hour ends with the guys replaying the Adam Schefter interview from earlier this morning.
The final hour of the show starts with the “Question Mark” segment and Stink is asked if he believes Ryan Lochte’s story on getting robbed in Rio. Which leads Mike to breaking news on the matter. Then the guys switch to another weird story involving police, Aqib Talib’s night in Dallas which may get him a suspension. QB Leaderboard with Gary Kubiak praising the QB play yesterday versus the 49ers. Our Broncos Insider Cecil Lammey joined the guys from Champ camp to talk about the QB battle and who is in the lead right now.
