Mike is back at UC Health Training Center for the final week of Broncos Champ Camp and is joined by Stink from Bristol, Connecticut. The guys talk about old friend, Brock Osweiler’s Texans debut, finishing with 27 yards in his first preseason game. The guys talked about Wade Phillips responding to some criticism about blitzing in the preseason. Phillips says they didn’t blitz much, and the sacks came on regular pressure. The Morning Brew featuring the slumping Rockies, Usain Bolt winning gold in the 100m dash AGAIN, Broncos news with WR Bennie Fowler’s injury and could Cody Latimer finally take advantage of his opportunity. Also, Brock Osweiler didn’t fare well in his first preseason game in Houston, we hear his thoughts on that first game.
Hour 2 starts with Mark’s “Clear the Air” segment, today centered on Brock Osweiler’s Texans debut and how the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Our QB leaderboard segment in which Gary Kubiak was upset with the offensive performance on practice over the weekend. 4 Down territory featuring Brock Osweiler’s debut in Houston; the 49ers QB issues; Rookie QB Carson Wentz injured in game 1; and the latest with the Broncos. Our Fan Football Insider Troy Renck from Denver 7 jumped on to talk about the Bennie Fowler injury, the QBs, and Wade Philips’ preseason game plan.
The final hour starts with our new Question Mark segment. The question of the day asks why Gary Kubiak’s play calls are so wordy and complex. The guys get back on the topic of Wade Phillips, and did he break a “code” in the game planning for a preseason game? Or is his defense just that good?
