Roy resigns from Avalanche, Broncos open their preseason TONIGHT: The Drive

The Drive LIVE with Big Al and DMac touching on the breaking news of Patrick Roy submitting his resignation to the Colorado Avalanche.  We hear from Mike Chambers from the Denver Post regarding Roy’s departure.  We also report the breaking news of LeBron James signing back with the Cavaliers for three years.  And finally, we talk with Mike Klis of 9NEWS and Cecil Lammey to break down tonight’s matchup of the Broncos and Bears LIVE from Soldier Field.

The Drive with Big Al and DMac underway as the fallout of the Patrick Roy resigning continues to come out as DMac is absolutely ticked off about what happened and how Roy handled the situation.  We hear from Mike Chambers from the Denver Post about his insight regarding the situation.  The whole Avalanche organization is stale at the moment and needed some sort of change.  Hear Mike’s interview HERE!

The Big Three at 3:30 brings up LeBron James agreeing to a 3 year, $100 million deal with the Cavaliers, what to look for in tonight’s game with the Broncos and Bears.  Patrick Roy quit on his team earlier today and how he’ll be viewed in the Hockey circles from here on out and Nate Ebner, of the New England Patriots, is participating in the Olympics.

The hour wraps up with the fellas talking about Rugby in the Olympics as there is a player from South Africa that’s standing out on TV at the moment.

Football at Four underway with Mike Klis of 9NEWS joining the show to give us a final injury update for tonight’s Broncos game against the Bears.  He gives us his prediction for Mark Sanchez tonight, Emmanuel Sanders could be Sanchez’s go-to receiver.  Hear our entire conversation with Mike HERE!

The Quarterback Leaderboard shines light on what we’re looking to expect in tonight’s preseason opener against the Bears, with excitement being shown towards Paxton Lynch making his debut.

Our Broncos Insider Cecil Lammey joins the show IN STUDIO as we’re marching down to kickoff of this Broncos preseason opener in Chicago.  Actually, Alfred starts asking about Fantasy Football Running Backs.

 

LISTEN TO HOUR THREE HERE!

The third and final hour underway with Cecil Lammey still riding shotgun on The Drive as we are breaking down some of the backups that are going to be getting a lot of playing time during this preseason.  We break down the Running Back position with the majority of the fellas that Ronnie Hillman is looking like the odd man out with this competition hitting the field tonight.

The Closing Bell rings on Mark Sanchez being the first starter of the season for the Broncos as trending up.  Also trending up, is Bradley Roby.  Trending down is Preseason football because everybody gets excited but doesn’t care after a certain time and finally, can Wade Phillips coach this year or will his second year curse continue?

The show wraps up with the fellas playing sound from Joe Sakic’s conference call regarding Patrick Roy’s resignation and getting final words in before kickoff takes place between the Broncos and Bears.
